Cuba Prepare the Oil and Gas Exploration in the Gulf of Mexico

Competition among energy players in the Central American region will bloom again. Cuba until the end of this year will prepare the oil and gas drilling offshore in the Gulf of Mexico. If realized, the Cubans will be able to produce 4 million tons of oil and gas. "Oil production this year will exceed the plan," said Country Manager Exploration Company Cubapetroleo (short-sighted), Rafael Tenreyro Perez.

Furthermore, as news Xinhua on Saturday (05/28/2011), Tenreyro Perez added, it opens itself to cooperation programs with international partners.

Currently Cuban oil production could only meet half of domestic needs. The rest, Cuba imported directly from Venezuela.

Now the data shows that Cuba produces 4 million tons of crude oil. Last year, Cuba drill 25 oil wells.
