BARCELONA - Lewis Hamilton's record has never won the Spanish Grand Prix. Thus, Hamilton was determined to ruin the party by becoming a champion Fernando Alonso in a race in Spain.
Alonso was the middle excited. Ferrari plans to celebrate his new contract, which makes the upcoming Alonso survive into 2016, with victory in Formula One (F1) at the Catalunya Circuit, this weekend.
"If I could win the race in Spain, then I will be talks from ear to ear. It will be very exciting," said Hamilton, as reported by the Guardian.co.uk, Friday (20/05/2011).
Hamilton also discussed the contract extension had just experienced Alonso. According to him, the contract was a very long time and no one can guess what will happen in the next five years.
But this extension is good news for Alonso's career. "But Alonso's own career would be ended. I am also waiting for my contract. If you want to win races, then the right place at the paddock is with Ferrari, McLaren or Red Bull,"said Hamilton.
"So, Alonso was in a good situation. He will not be off to Red Bull and so also here, that's for sure. So, Alonso will not go anywhere," said the British driver.
