Abhisit: No Intention to Carry International Conflict


During the meeting of ASEAN heads of state in Jakarta, the issue of border conflict Thailand and Cambodia to meet the meeting. Prime Minister Abhisit Vejjajiva said he did not have bad intentions of Cambodia.

"Clearly we knew this already. Both parties clearly understand the attitude of each," said Prime Minister Abhisit Vejjajiva on the sidelines of the ASEAN leaders meeting at the JCC, Jakarta, Saturday (05/07/2011).

Indeed, the conflict between the Thai-Cambodian border has not been definitely discussed at a meeting of ASEAN heads of state.

"Thailand to make sure we do not have bad intentions towards Cambodia. We want to resolve this issue peacefully," said Prime Minister Abhisit.

Abhisit admitted today the two countries have several bilateral mechanisms and regulations. "This mechanism applies during times of strife and no intention to bring this issue to the international level, 'he said.

He said this issue must be discussed. Abhisit judge as a member of the ASEAN family, he was confident the dispute can be resolved.
