SBY. Communicate with the Prime Minister of Australia Ship Accident



President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono has made communication with the Prime Minister Julia Gillard in connection with information regarding the sinking of a ship not far from Christmas Island.

"There is news of a ship that sank between Indonesia and Christmas Island or Indonesia and Australia. I've talked to Prime Minister Julia Gillard," said the President in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, Friday (22/6) local time.

Head of State said that, based on the framework of cooperation between the two countries, Indonesia and Australia agreed that the country closer to the scene should provide first aid.

"According to Coordinating Minister for Politics this morning while the distance is closer to Australia even though we also have a rescue action," he said.

So far according to the information in the media there are 110 people who managed to
saved although not known where the ship that departed from and transporting anyone.

But President Yudhoyono confirmed that Indonesia has had a cooperation framework "Bali Process" to handle things like that.

"Bali Process" is a framework of cooperation between Indonesia and Australia is one of them to handle the flow of illegal immigrants into Australia is through the waters of Indonesia.

Meanwhile, media reports quoted the Australian Minister Jason Clare said that at least 100 victims of rollovers ship carrying immigrants seeking asylum on Christmas Island, Australia, has yet been found.

While the 110 other victims were rescued and three bodies were found.
