India Tightens Security Dalai Lama

The Indian government secretly tighten safeguards on the Dalai Lama, who had recently received death threats from China female agencies. Government of India has also asked the Tibetan government in exile in Dharamshala, India, to tighten security on the Tibetan spiritual leader.

Dalai Lama was in India after fleeing Chinese invasion of Tibet in 1959. Tibet was never part of China. On Sunday (5/13/2012) The Dalai Lama told a British newspaper that he was nearly killed by a female agent of China, who tried to ask for blessing from him.

Nodup, Security Minister Government of Tibet in exile, told the newspaper India, Hindustan Times, Tuesday (05/15/2012), confirmed the threat. "We have increased security while he was traveling and in Dharamshala," he said.
