Cruise Victims Killed 128 People


Kazan - A total of 128 people reportedly died after a tourist boat that excess passengers drowned in the River Volga. Russia on Monday (7/11/2011) states, hopes to find people who are still alive thinning.

Eighty people were rescued on Sunday in the worst river accident in Russia after the Bulgaria, two-story yacht that was built in 1955, drowned in the river in the territory of Tatarstan.

Emergency Situations Minister Sergei Shoigu told President Dmitry Medvedev that the thinning hope to find more passengers who are still alive, while the divers found several corpses of the ship.

According to Russian media, 60 of the passengers are probably children. Survivors said as many as 30 children gathered in a room near the stern of the ship to play a few minutes before it sank.

Natalya Makarova, who survived the crash, said on state television that many small children on board.

He said that despite her son in the grip as they struggled to save themselves. "We were all buried alive in the ship as in a metal coffin," Makarova said.

Medvedev said that if the regulations regarding safety note, the accident would not happen. "According to information we received today, the condition of the ship was apprehensive," Medvedev said in a joint session with the senior minister at his residence in Gorki, outside Moscow.

He called for a thorough inspection of ships in Russia and announced a day of mourning on Tuesday (12/07/2011). Meanwhile, Prime Minister Vladimir Putin sent his condolences.
