Team Physicians Concerned About Future Kubica on track

The team doctors who treated the development of Robert Kubica still have to wait until next August, to immediately find out if Kubica can still go back racing in Formula One, or not.

Kubica suffered severe injuries in an accident while following the rally event in Italy, beginning in February. This Polish origin rider seriously injured on the part of his right hand and foot.

As previously reported, the Polish driver was already out of Santa Corona hospital where he spent over 10 weeks to undergo the treatment after the accident which happened ahead of the beginning of last season.

Lotus-Renault racer had to undergo four surgeries due to the injury. Kubica now finally allowed to return and rest at home. However, if he could return to the racing world? Doctors still can not give a decision.

"We will understand the impact of six months after the accident. We believe, Kubica toward healing, especially to restore back the nerves (in hand) this process is very long. So still very difficult to understand what's happening in the first four months. He has a good sensitivity, but not in certain places (in hand), "said Dr. Riccardo Ceccarelli Gazzetta dello Sport reported on Monday (4/25/2011).

Rehabilitation Kubica is currently under the strict supervision of Dr. Ceccarelli, the Italian sports clinics, Formula Medicine and is a consultant with F1 racing team, if there are drivers who were injured.

"With the training program at the gym, it helps Robert to feel like a racer again. We're still in touch with the teams that handle it since the beginning like Dr. Igor Rossello," continued Dr. Ceccarelli.

Kubica right hand almost amputated because of the severity of injury. But, the doctors are able to reconnect. The biggest difficulty is the time to welcome the nerves, where it takes a long time during operation.
